In QNX 4, this function simply returns 1.
In QNX Neutrino, this function makes sure that the widget library is
using a channel (rather than realtime signals) for notification. It
returns the channel number (or -1 on failure).
There's no such thing as a channel in QNX 4,
so this function simply returns 1.
In QNX Neutrino, this function returns the channel number,
or -1 on failure.
